The VG240Y is an entry-level IPS display. A major downside is that there's only HDMI and DVI, and it doesn't support Displayport at all. While this isn't the biggest problem, it can be a problem with multi-display solutions as most modern graphics cards only have 1 HDMI input. Nevertheless, the display works, looks good and is quite thin. IPS has excellent color accuracy, acceptable viewing angles, decent maximum brightness, and a 75Hz response time that's at least better than 60Hz. - Smaller bezels help make it look better. They wobble slightly on the stand. So if that's an issue for those who type a lot, you might want to consider a stronger mount (they're VESA compliant). Because it's an IPS display, it has a certain IPS glow. As a person who has only used TN panels, I saw that immediately. After prolonged use, I hardly notice it anymore. Slightly moving monitors to minimize IPS shine is easy, and each has its own position. If the monitor is centered in front of you (or even slightly to the left or right, but not tilted), you won't see the glow. When gaming, keep in mind that 75Hz is generally pretty low (most gamers will be happy with 144Hz or higher). IPS displays are becoming extremely expensive and are typically more for image quality than performance and speed. I would not recommend this for COMPETITION gamers as your budget will probably be better spent on 144Hz TN panels than a 75Hz IPS panel.
