Review on 27.5x2.25 Trail Boss Comp Tire in Black by Bill Dahl

I've had WTB tires on at least one bike in my garage for years and no problems. Apparently my luck with this tire brand has run out. This tire was on the front wheel of my 2004 Cannondale F400 that I am renovating and I ran it up to 50psi to cruise around while I worked on the new rotors and pads. Since I got the tire on, I've ridden my bike four times, all on paved roads. I was woken up just after 6am this morning by a loud bang on the first floor. Usually a nocturnal smack means the cats knocked something over or fell off the railings again into the living room below (don't ask, my cats are brave), so I looked for evidence of a damaged cat or damage to furniture. But I did not find anything. Strange. The mystery was later solved when I headed into the garage to start my morning drive. There I discovered that the tire's carcass had catastrophically collapsed and separated from the bead. Of course, when he was released, the tube also failed. So I need a new tire and a new tube. Nice.
