A few years ago I had a tin can and gave it up because I was trying to seal the fish with it, which contained liquid and leaked out of the bag and into the unit, resulting in a stench. Looking back, I probably didn't make the bag long enough. But I gave up cleaning it and never changed it. These days I throw too much food in the bin because I don't have time to eat it due to my busy schedule. I've also started smoking meats and cheeses and I'd like to cook earlier to save time in the evenings. I thought of a different way of storing food that seems to have always been popular and was amazed at the range of different machines available at Revain from different manufacturers, most of which I had never heard of before. There were too many choices, but I recognized the Inkbird name because they also make quality meat thermometers for BBQ and grill lovers. So I thought I'd keep researching. This sealer has a lot of positive reviews and I felt like I had to take a chance. The price of this machine is great but that wasn't necessarily a factor for me, I just wanted something high quality that would work really well so I wouldn't have to worry about the issue I was having before. It arrived yesterday and the first thing I sealed was a chunk of sharp cheddar cheese I smoked a week ago and wrapped in cling film. So I sealed it with The Inkbird and was amazed at how quick and easy it was. One feature I really liked is the packet cutter. This is a handy way to cut bags without having to pull out kitchen scissors. I haven't filled anything with liquid yet, but I think he'll be able to handle it. I also need to make the pouch a bit longer so that the liquid gets a different place than when it comes out of the pouch. The price of this device is very reasonable. It appears to be of high build quality and it is solid. It has a detachable power cord and is small enough to stand discreetly on your kitchen counter or simply store away when you don't want to keep it away. I suppose you could use any brand of freezer bags with this, but I'm the guy who likes to use genuine accessories that should go with everything. So I was happy to see that InkBird also offer their own ziplock pouches, but again I'm pretty sure they will, except for other brand pouches and as long as they fit properly (ask the manufacturer). I think this is a good product for small to medium sized homes with a moderate amount of food to print. I recommend this item with enthusiasm!.
