I bought this mug for camping, I needed a mug that would keep my coffee hotter longer than my camping mugs. And this mug was ok - it kept my coffee hot. I also liked that it didn't tip over. Though too big for in-car cup holders, it stayed in place on the center console and on the floor, not even close to tipping over. That being said, my biggest complaint about this mug is that it drips a lot. While I love the idea of a sliding lid, the coffee tends to get stuck in the lid's layers. When I drank, it kept dripping from the top, sloshing over me many times. It also regularly had coffee drips around the lid, even when placed on a flat surface.
