Of course they didn't cover the little bit of brass between the final thread and the plastic cover, but the caps that came with the truck did. They covered all the threads and fitted snugly to the bottom of the threads. You can see some brass, but I haven't found any caps that would fit longer and cover the threads. Let me know if you do all this lol. If you are so concerned about the appearance of bronze/brass, scrape it with sandpaper (for adhesion) and apply a suitable road/weather rust oleum paint. You look good enough for me.
