Works, but check gears! 1994 Lexus ES300

Before people start giving bad reviews about different gears, I would like to point out that these speed sensors have right angle gears and some cars may have straight gears which means you have to look at your speed sensor when taking it it off. For straight gears, DO NOT install with skewed gears! However, it is easy to replace the old gear shaft from the old sensor and insert it into the new sensor, it is only held in place by a clip. Not sure which cars use straight or cornering but the sensor solved my problem. My '94 Lexus ES300 "searched" which gear to put in. That means if I let off the gas and then immediately step on the gas again, you can feel it downshifting and then upshifting, and sometimes the revs before shifting are too high. Given that a new OEM sensor costs over $100 I decided to try this one and so far it's working. crossed fingers Just FYI for anyone reading this who may have an ES300 with weird shifting. Based on the extensive research I've done on the subject, I've found that it could be a variety of things. It could be ONE or BOTH of two different speed sensors, or it could even be a problem with the knock sensor, and even the possibility of bad resistance on the back of the speedometer, although this is usually due to high heat - a great video to swap out. Search Utoob "How To Fix Toyota Lexus Speedometer And Odometer Not Working With Bad Shift". Much luck!
