Common sense and the firefighting community we live in requires that all firewood within 30 feet of our home be covered with a fire retardant tarp that meets California requirements. firefighter. We had a hard time finding them at our local hardware store so this fitted the bill. These tarpaulins are a bit stiff ("heavy duty"), but otherwise easy to work with. I just hope we never bring embers close enough to our house to test the tarp's fire retardant properties! ;-)
