Versatile, fun and good quality

As a mother of six who are homeschooled, I'm always looking for fun, educational products to keep my kids engaged, secretly reinforcing what they're learning, or who need extra help . . My 8-year-old son is extremely insecure about reading and gets very upset when his 7-year-old brother, who reads proficiently and confidently, "helps" him with his reading. He tells me (and everyone else) that he can't read, although he can read very well when he's in a good mood and not forced to do schoolwork, so I've been looking for ways to get him to read huh doesn't feel like school. I wasn't originally planning on ordering them but after the Reading Rods Sentence set became unavailable I decided to give it a try but didn't have high hopes for them. So far these dominoes have been a hit not only with my 8 year old but also with my other children ranging in age from 3 to 12. They are versatile and we had fun finding different games and ways to use them in our homeschooling classes. The words are printed clearly and not too small and the tiles are good quality and durable and will stand up to my destructive boys! I expected the kids to have to throw away all the tiles when playing with this because they won't be able to search through them to find the right tiles. I was worried they would lose the tiles and also knew that if there was less mess to clean up when they were done they would be more likely to play with them. I ended up buying a second set of tiles and putting them in a plastic shoe box from the dollar store. Although it wasn't what I wanted and I was hesitant to buy them, these dominoes exceeded my expectations! It would be great if Educational Insights made kits with more difficult words to add to this sentence, but for now our family will be looking for ways to have fun with this sentence!
