The cat shelf was exactly what I was looking for, but I would definitely place it in the 'kitten table' category. As you can see from the photos, my kitten is very small (7 weeks and 2 pounds) and doing well with it. Assembly was easy (tip: the smallest screw for the stairs, the second screw for the bottom of the house, the 3 longest screws for the pillars). For now I covered the underside of the post with a blanket because I didn't want my kitty to get hurt if she fell off - there's nothing to climb down except this narrow ladder.
