Loom knitting since the 70's when Whiting, Singer, Weaver and others often had circular looms in their boxes. Needle crafts for children. I was given a book from the late 1800's and another from the early 1900's about knitting with rakes and looms used as rehab/therapy by war veterans and state prisoners in the 1990's, which fueled my love for this quick and easy craft renewed. These 3 8" thick looms use a single thread of finer yarn as opposed to more typical beginner looms with wider yarns such as Knifty Knitter or In the Attic, Boye etc looms. fine yarn or a skein of thick yarn. This will speed up your work and the stitches/length of the created object will form faster. These smaller caliber looms produce finer, finer stitches that take a little longer to complete. Machines create beautiful, even stitches. The pins have a small groove and button on the end so you can use the weaving tool and hold the stitches in place as you work. I added a soft silicone pencil grip to the loom hook for easier holding and working. I can also use other hooks I already have. The hook is great, just my personal preference. A bit of a learning curve if both the pins and yarn are thinner/smaller than you're used to; Coiling yarn and wrapping it around smaller pins, along with removing loops and stitches, you may need to slow down and take your time. Don't go as fast as you are used to with large caliber looms. And the wind is initially weak. The smaller bar size and bar spacing means that the stitches on the bars can tighten significantly as you pull the knit down to keep the stitches the same gauge/shape.
