Bought because I didn't want to line up my entire large filter for one gallon servings but soon started using it for five gallon servings as well. This is probably the cheapest and easiest way to implement filtration in your home brewer. AFTER CLEANING, this filter gives your beer or wine a nice professional look. One pad is good for a five gallon batch. The only downside is that you can't save on the filter media if you only use a gallon, so it seems like I'm wasting 4/5 the cost of the pad if I only use a gallon, but they aren't crazy expensive. and the results are worth it.
