A Stitch in Time -- For a Terrific Waist Pack

I really love this waist pack! So you might wonder why only 3 stars.so here's why: when I received it, and put it on for a trial run with my large phone and a few other items, it seemed great at first, but then the waistband caused problems. The waistband is adjustable for all sizes, and I had a lot of leftover length. This extra belt length is meant to be held in place by the elastic belt loops -- but the elastic belt loops didn't hold the extra belt length in place at all. The belt loops themselves slid around while I walked, so that eventually they were not holding anything. I wound up with dangling belts at both my sides. In fact, they dangled down by knees (really annoying). I would patiently fix it back again, but gradually the belt ends escaped, every time. Also, the sides of the belt gradually got looser around my waist as I wore it, so that I had to keep on tightening the belt up again to make it fit my waist. I was annoyed, and decided to return the bag. But then I realized I could fix it easily with my sewing kit. I simply tacked down the sides of the belt, and also made a couple of stitches on the inside of the elastic loops (so my stitches don't show on the outside). During this process I cut off a lot of the extra belt material, although it would have worked just fine without this step. It took about 10 minutes to make this little alteration, and it was well worth it, since it no longer sags, and the ends stay right in place. If you don't have a sewing kit, there are probably other good ways to fasten the belt ends. I'm glad I kept this bag! It has lots of good qualities. One of the things I like is that it lies pretty much flat against you, and only expands forward as much as you need it to as you put things in the pockets. And, it's roomy enough for my big I-Phone 6 Plus with it's case, my keys, my wallet, and extras like nasal spray and chapstick-- and I still have room to spare. The arrangement of the pockets is good, too. After my slight alteration of the belt difficulties, I can happily give this bag a solid 5 star rating. :)

Pros
  • Can be worn with nearly any outfit
Cons
  • The bag design is too loud and can clash with your outfit
