I bought this (for my 32lb/39in 3 year old) along with the competing brand Speedo. They are both very similar. The school life jacket: - was slightly thicker than the Speedo - had a padded strap between the legs. speedometer not. - Was slightly higher than the speedometer. The padding was higher on the shoulders than on the Speedo. - Material similar to Speedo. In the end I chose the Speedo version. because that SwimSchool vest was too high around her face, it was also a bit larger (which might be good for anxiety, but not for comfort). I think it fits better for a child a bit taller than my daughter. Overall not a bad product. It just didn't suit us.
