Simply follow the instructions provided, measure twice and cut once on this clear bar. Clean the edges of the car doors where you want to attach the molding with rubbing alcohol and a clean cloth. Then start at one end and gently press the bar into place. Reattach the guard and keep pushing around the edge until you reach the end of the door. Then use a cloth to protect the car's trim and use a rubber mallet to press it into place as firmly as possible. It's really easy. And it worked for me. Now I no longer worry about losing paint on the edges of the doors or accidentally hitting the edge of the door in a car parked too close to mine. I read some comments prior to purchasing that said it came off right away. I don't know how that's even possible with such a strong grip and how to first just push it all the way down with your hands and then pound it down with a rubber mallet to make sure it's as tight as possible (because it fits HERE ) - mine works exactly as it should. I followed the clear instructions to the tee - works great.
