First of all, this amp can't put out 8000 watts of power. Maybe for glitches in 2 microseconds per channel, but certainly not in real life. I set the volume controls similar to another 40 watt per channel amp and the sound levels are similar if that helps you understand the actual volume. However, that kind of performance is all I needed and quite frankly all I expected from this budget amp. The biggest issue I have is the low, constant hum this amp produces. I tried connecting it to other cable and speaker combinations and it was definitely coming from the amp. When I connect other amplifiers to my speakers, I don't get hiss. It's soft enough where it's not noticeable during the day, but quite noticeable when it's quiet at night. It's also annoying that I can't turn it off with the power button - it hangs. It turned on normally, but the button is not centered and is not pressed. So on the rare occasions that I need to turn it off, I have to unplug it. All in all, this is a pretty crappy amp. At least the price reflects this. I will try to replace it as soon as I find a better replacement.
