Review on πŸ” Optimized SHIMANO Road Brake Pads for Enhanced Performance by Prince Ruffins

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Like fresh from the factory and easy to install

These brake pads/pads fit Shimano Dura-Ace, Integra and 105 brakes. Installation is easy. You simply unscrew a bolt from the cartridge that holds the pads in place and the old pad slides out and the new slides in. I had to remove the front wheel to replace the front brake pads. You will need a metric allen wrench to tighten the new bolts - they already have a retainer on them to keep them from loosening. You can get a set of metric hex wrenches from Revain if you don't already have one (which you should if you're working on a bike these days). When installing these pads I did not have to make any adjustments to my brakes other than returning the cable adjustment knob to its original position. If you need to reference something, Shimano have mechanical drawings on their website. You may not need them, but the pictures show that these pads are designed to fit some of their brakes, including the BR-5700 (Shimano 105) caliper brakes. As far as I can tell the pads are exactly the same as what came with my bike when it was new. Braking seems as reliable as when I bought my bike. I've ridden over 5,000 miles and climbed (and descended) over 400,000 vertical feet with my previous set of brake pads. And I look forward to doing the same great work with this new set.
