Decent but not perfect

This article is interesting, it is very good for HTPC, but it has some limitations. I spent some time getting it working, it requires imon software for remote setup without media center. It works fairly well but has a short range, the LCD screen also looks weird at times and stays that way until I unplug the power supply to bleed off all voltage for a few minutes, a simple reboot or shutdown doesn't remove all power Therefore. This problem only happened twice in 3 months so it's not too bad but it's annoying. Connecting and routing cables through the drive bay was also a bit of a hassle, but most HTPCs are designed for smaller sizes, so that's perfectly normal. There aren't many alternatives on this market, I've paired it with a GD01 aluminum case and it looks great, a little awkward to lower the drawer but I still think it looks and performs better than their case with pretty much placed the same display/receiver in the hole on the left side as I can close the right side and completely hide the display and optical drive. Overall, it added some cool and fun features to my HTPC and if you doubt it, you can get it too.

Pros
  • Built-in multi-language LCD
Cons
  • Empty
