Review on πŸ•οΈ Explore the Outdoors with Backyard Safari Mini Pop Habitat! by Allan Ryser

Not suitable for keeping caterpillars as they turn into butterflies.

I bought this because I need a habitat where I can observe the life cycle of monarch butterflies from caterpillar to butterfly. What I found was that although I provided the caterpillars with long branches to attach their pupae to, they all made it to the inside of the habitat cover and dangled from there, making it difficult to 1) add new milkweed leaves, to feed the remaining caterpillars and 2) it is difficult to release the resulting butterflies without disturbing the remaining pupa. (What's needed is a case that opens from the side, not the top.) That aside, this little retractable case feels sturdy and is easy to clean with a hose. (the pupa poops a lot!) I would love to watch fireflies or other insects, just not as a butterfly nursery.
