Would you believe a cheap $4 foam cooler had more padding than this thing? I recently found this out about the cheapest bike helmets. My cheap 661 that I bought a few years ago has removable 1/2" padding, so what's wrong with today's cheap helmets? But seriously, you won't be able to use all your strength to crush that foam. I don't want anyone to fall wearing a helmet. Have you ever heard of the cork oak? It's light but firm, and the foam on this lid reminds me of that. I bought a $4 white foam cooler last weekend and you can squeeze it with your fingers and watch it shrink and then spring back into shape when you release it. I would like to point out that this helmet has a fabric liner about an eighth of an inch thick. in several places, but that would not change anything in the event of an accident. This helmet has some cool features, but we shouldn't buy a helmet just because it looks cool.
