I have a 50 pound Plott Hound mix. When I took her in she wasn't on a regular diet because the people who threw her away starved her. The rescue company 4paws4you4ever fed them soft beef and chicken food, which was fine, but I couldn't buy stamps where I live. I've tried other types of chicken and beef that upset her stomach so much she pooped in her sleep. I ended up going for a lamb purine which did its job with her stomach but she didn't like eating it. I threw in whatever I could find to please her and she waited all day until she was finally hungry enough to eat it. I found a holistic company called Bentley's Corner Barkery that showed me that if I mixed nuggets with their current food, a dog might like their food. The bowl didn't even touch the bottom! Since then she has been totally immersed in it. That was 6 months ago and I had to change her diet again as she went from puppy to adult. I still feed her nuggets mixed with her regular food and she loves it every day! Today she eats A PRIMARY CHICKEN Nugget TWICE A DAY, HER REGULAR LAMB DOG FOOD, GREEN BEANS AND CARROTS MIXED IN ONE BOWL. She has a magnificent coat and a very healthy appearance, and she is as strong as a bull. If you want your dog to eat something, add it to their food.
