Lamb was good, chicken may have arrived spoiled

We're usually happy with Primal Lamb Nuggets. This time we ordered the chicken and it came mainly in powder form rather than individual solid nuggets (see photo). I don't know if it was crushed in transit, old or wet, but at a time when dog food is reported as being contaminated and killing animals it is unusable in this condition. There is no way to return or refund money.

Pros
  • Sturdy construction
Cons
  • Available in white only

Please note this offer!

I love this product but I order every few weeks which costs a lot of money and I always order from the same place. All I ask is that the bags are not as wrinkled as they are very soft and my dog will not eat wrinkled food so I waste 1/3 to 1/2 the amount of the bag. The last one was really bad. I threw most of it away and ordered new ones. I only have a 4 pound Yorkie so this should take a while. Check out my order history, it tells a story. Ordering again but don't know how to tell the seller.

  • Very good price

DO NOT ORDER HERE

I have purchased this item several times from our local pet store. Our 3 dogs are used to eating this with every meal. A few days after the first bag (I ordered 3) all 3 dogs started vomiting and having bloody stools. Not knowing the source of the problem, I stopped using this food and kept them on kibble until the symptoms went away and everyone was eating normally again. About a week later I reinserted the primary nuggets and the vomiting and bloody stools started again. Stopped the food and…

DON'T BUY CHICKEN FORMULA - COMPLETE BATHS

In the last 6 months I have had 3 bad batches of Primal Freeze Dried Chicken Mix that have gone bad. It smells like garbage - a very greasy, musty smell. My dog refused to eat it - the wild critters didn't even eat it when I put it on my back lawn! Chicken is the only food I had trouble with. The lamb, duck and salmon were ok but I'm dropping Primal until they fix their quality control issues. Three different batches of poor quality is a real quality problem. I don't risk my pet's health with…

My picky girl loves it!

She only weighs 6.5 to 7 pounds so I have to be careful if she takes off. She has a fast metabolism and is very thin. She eats Halo food and I cook for her. But when we were at the dog fair 2 weeks ago. Once she tried it, she couldn't stop eating! I gave her chicken, turkey and sardine (I think). She loved them both but she bought the chicken. It's expensive, so I sprinkle a block on her food. As an alternative, I also give her Stella and Chewy's blender. She's not exactly raw, but it seems to…

Five stars for the food

When I brought my puppy home he had natural instincts. can contribute and see rave reviews for this product. My puppy inhaled it, unlike other food he ate more in the pasture. He weighs 1.7 pounds and I give him about 4-5 nuggets a day, crumbled with some water. If I don't drink water, his stool looks very dry. For those who have small dogs, you must feed him food constantly, otherwise his sugar may drop. I read the reviews first and then followed. 1 nugget per meal which is fine but please…

Pros
  • Inspires confidence
Cons
  • I have no major grudges about it, everything is fine

IF YOU LOVE YOUR DOG, TRY THIS.

I have a 50 pound Plott Hound mix. When I took her in she wasn't on a regular diet because the people who threw her away starved her. The rescue company 4paws4you4ever fed them soft beef and chicken food, which was fine, but I couldn't buy stamps where I live. I've tried other types of chicken and beef that upset her stomach so much she pooped in her sleep. I ended up going for a lamb purine which did its job with her stomach but she didn't like eating it. I threw in whatever I could find to…

they LOVE dehydrated and freeze dried

I was looking for quality food at a reasonable price for my two Boston Terrier sisters. They are very active, just over a year old and quite picky too. I fed them fresh frozen food most of the time but they got to the point where they didn't care. I also found this to be an issue now that I am in quarantine because it meant going to the grocery store regularly to feed them. About three months ago I discovered freeze-dried raw food for the first time. I can tell you I paid double for this meal…

Great food with important caveats!

I have a 10 pound miniature dachshund who is sensitive to all common pet store foods. I've tried every brand including grain free, special diet, premium, etc. No matter what I gave her, she vomited EVERY day. She also had scaly, dry skin and terrible dermatitis on the edges of her ears. It only helped that the vet prescribed a daily dose of Pepcid AC. If she missed even one dose, the vomiting would return. Given that chronic antacid use causes nutrient malabsorption, I was dying to find a way…
