As received, this product did not work at all. It wouldn't hold any of my mics tight enough to be safe using them mounted in it as the 3 small rubber pads slide over the mics and the clamps don't close at right angles to each other. In addition, it was very inconvenient to install the microphone, since the screw unscrewed, but the jaw did not open. I solved these problems by removing the rubber pads and gluing the skin to the surface of the jaws and then placing a spring between the jaws around the screw so that the jaws open when the screw is loosened. I also had to remove the burr from the part that pinches the hinge pin so it tightens and holds when gripping the mic. All relatively small things for those who will be using it from the start, and the price was low enough that it was the raw material to make a worthwhile mod.
