Saw cheaper ones and only bought them due to poor grip and weak locking angle. Received this and was very satisfied. I'm an Aviation Inspector and I can't tell you how nice it is to have that.

Large obvious cosmetic manufacturing defects. This might be negligible if it worked, but high quality micrometers are too heavy for tiny rubber feet to hold securely, the side of the thimble slips off. There is no spring to tension the handle, so opening and closing is inconvenient. Only fits very cheap/lightweight 0-1" plastic micrometers (e.g. Harbor Freight). Made in China.

As received, this product did not work at all. It wouldn't hold any of my mics tight enough to be safe using them mounted in it as the 3 small rubber pads slide over the mics and the clamps don't close at right angles to each other. In addition, it was very inconvenient to install the microphone, since the screw unscrewed, but the jaw did not open.
