I knew I was buying with this great value kit and my expectations were pretty low. But after just a few minutes, I realized that they were far from low enough. The 2000, 3000 and 5000 grit wheels were only usable for ten seconds. I don't embellish either. Literally within seconds of installing a new hard drive and interface pad out of the box, hard drives lose all sharpness and become slippery-smooth. I also wet grind, they don't boot, they're clean. Abrasives dissolve quickly. I've used lots of sandpaper, both cheap and expensive, and have never seen anything THAT bad. to contact areas. After just a few minutes of wet sanding on setting 2 on the Mini DA Polisher the adhesive on the hook side came loose and the hook blade and sanding pad flew off in the middle of the sand leaving a nice splotch of glue with traces of foam on the clear coat. I am trying to fix. Brilliant. And it's not like I stress these materials, I don't dry sand the metal with an air rotary sander, and I don't generate a ton of heat. I just wet sand the soft clear coat carefully and slowly at very low speeds. Haven't used them yet but the foam pads seem decent as do the two base plates. But I bought this primarily because of the sanding discs and interface pads which worked at such a terrible level that I couldn't believe it and even laughed. I guess they'll be a fun talking point to show off to my beer friends. I suspect you can grind two headlights to a satisfactory level with this kit. But even that is stressful. I would look elsewhere for grinding supplies or a headlight restoration kit, but if you're primarily looking for washers and backing plates this might be a good option. Maybe I caught a batch of bad quality discs. In fact, that would make more sense than having this horrible product intentionally manufactured and sold.
