Rubber seal in the lid.
Nice wide opening which is better than the cheaper Port a John models. Also, it has a nice black rubber grommet in the lid, while the others I have are made of plastic or plastic card. The downside of this model is the fact that if you put it on its flat side, the end can fall out if the lid isn't screwed tight. This is, of course, "standing up" when you sit down to reach for your hat, pull up your pants, or zip up.
