Blocks top output and interferes with RFI/EMI speakers

Let's start with the positives first. Once I got the devices to communicate, I hit speeds of 1Gbps. However, there are a few downsides I'd like to mention: I don't like that it blocks the top exit, older models didn't have that, so I don't know how this design has regressed. Setting up the device was tricky as I had to go back and forth up the stairs to hold the sync button for 3 seconds for the devices to sync. The real reason I only gave these 2 stars is because the Power Line Adapter creates massive static on my external speakers to match the amount of data being sent. When I go to the speedtest website, the speakers play crazy no matter what volume is set on the speakers (even at volume 0). Netgear technical support was unable to provide any recommendations. They just told me to return the item. I came up with a workaround myself. The battery-powered speakers had no problems at all, so I assumed it must have been interference from the AC adapter. The workaround I found was that I had to purchase an additional CableWholesale 1 Outlet 540W Surge Protector with EMI/RFI Filter (50W1-905302) to remove static electricity and I had to switch the speakers with that filter to a different one Plug in socket. There is still some EMI/RFI noise, but it's much better with a filter. I am considering ordering a second EMI/RFI filter adapter to add to my existing one to see if it eliminates any static. I never thought speaker noise would be an issue when purchasing this product. Pros - 1 Gigabit Ethernet connection. Cons - Device blocks top outlet - Syncing is finicky - Internet traffic through powerline adapter causes static on external computer speakers. (Requires purchase of an optional EMI/RFI filter adapter)
