Forget WiFi, use Powerline!

I had a lot of problems with wifi for smart tv and xbox so i decided to give it a try instead of keep spending big money on new wifi routers and extenders never worked properly. Worth every penny. Was basically plug and play. Super fast. Now all devices that transmit videos are connected to a wired network and disconnected from WiFi. Clear, clean signal now and no more waiting. Really great product!

Pros
  • Very good price
Cons
  • Almost everything is ok

Fast transfer rate but partially blocked spare socket

I previously had a different brand power supply. There was only one connection up to 20 Mbit/s. That being said, I'm now getting transfer speeds in excess of 100Mbps in the same retail stores. Only one star is removed as it partially blocks the outlet port above it, making the walkthrough a little less useful. I can still use a two-prong power cord in a partially blocked outlet, but you can forget the three-prong ones.

Random disconnects

Works most of the time but randomly disconnects. It takes about 5 minutes to reconnect, which is ridiculous. but that didn't help at all. I have no issues with Wi-Fi and will get back to that. If you need a stable internet connection, such as B. online teaching, remote work, etc., this is a terrible choice. This can be a minor inconvenience. However, I need a stable connection to do schoolwork and use the online supervision software. Don't let good grades fool you like I did.

DO NOT buy this! for powerline network adapter

While the device's bandwidth makes it desirable, the sleep feature, which CANNOT be disabled or otherwise tampered with, makes it a useless choice. I use the device for about 3 hours and disconnect from the router at least 10 times. . I should note that I'm an IT professional and immediately went in search of solutions. There are many threads about this particular design choice (can't name a con as Netgear seems to have made it on purpose) and the end result is that this product goes into sleep

  • Excellent price

  • There are more interesting options.

They just don't work

I get a maximum of 20 MB/s with gigabit fiber. With any load (e.g. heavy downloads or heavy games), the speed drops to 2-3 MB/s. I bought it when we turned our guest room into an office with our PCs and other consoles. Unfortunately I couldn't move my router as ATT installed it through an outside wall in the living room. Installation was pretty intuitive and I was very disappointed to see such low speeds. I've tried moving them to other outlets and often all the lights are solid green. Once I…

Good speed, reliable connection

I had an older generation of Netgear devices (SISO) and their speed wasn't quite what I would like. They could give me up to 200Mbps (depending on the outlet in the house, the worst speed was under 100Mbps), so I decided to try the new MIMO generation. I was amazed at the speed increase! The new device delivered 350 Mbit/s on the same outlet where the old device delivered 200 Mbit/s. And which is very nice, all devices are cross-compatible (but speed is limited to the slowest). This MIMO…

should have commented. You never know if the buyer installed the product correctly, wrote a bad review about what they did wrong, or if there is something wrong with the incoming signal. But I have to say that this NETGEAR Power line has lived up to expectations. I've had this on Comcast Cable since February 24th and I have four kids who play a lot of online games on PS4 and NET FLIX. I didn't have any lag or freeze issues like with WIFI. Trust me I would have heard about it not working…

Worked well for 9-10 months.

Works very well until something in your house that uses a lot of electricity, such as a heater. B. an air conditioner, is turned on and the lights in your house go out for a split second. During that split second, the connection is lost and you are disconnected from the network. So if you use this for an online game you will be loaded. If you do not have such a problem at home, then everything is fine. When he works he is quite outstanding. I use it for my Xbox and Playstation which are about…

Blocks top output and interferes with RFI/EMI speakers

Let's start with the positives first. Once I got the devices to communicate, I hit speeds of 1Gbps. However, there are a few downsides I'd like to mention: I don't like that it blocks the top exit, older models didn't have that, so I don't know how this design has regressed. Setting up the device was tricky as I had to go back and forth up the stairs to hold the sync button for 3 seconds for the devices to sync. The real reason I only gave these 2 stars is because the Power Line Adapter creates
