I had an older generation of Netgear devices (SISO) and their speed wasn't quite what I would like. They could give me up to 200Mbps (depending on the outlet in the house, the worst speed was under 100Mbps), so I decided to try the new MIMO generation. I was amazed at the speed increase! The new device delivered 350 Mbit/s on the same outlet where the old device delivered 200 Mbit/s. And which is very nice, all devices are cross-compatible (but speed is limited to the slowest). This MIMO technology promises up to 4x magnification, which seems unrealistic to me in a real environment, but a 1.75x magnification is still very good. 350Mbps covers most of my use cases. The only thing that isn't covered is a gaming PC, but I never expected powerline networking to be better than regular UTP.
