Review on ๐ŸŽฎ PC USB Adapter for Wireless Wii U Pro Controller by Mark Vazquez

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Great adapter if you just want to connect your Wii U Pro controller to your computer as a universal gamepad or XBox controller

I had an XBox 360 controller that I used with my PC until he died I didn't have any other XBox controllers but I have a Wii U with three Pro controllers that mostly don't get used unless there's a party going on so I decided to take a chance and buy one of my Wii Use U controller and save some money instead of buying a new XBox 360 or Xbox One controller. First of all, I would like to mention that there are software solutions that make the Wii U controller work with a regular Bluetooth adapter. The software solution consisted of a custom Bluetooth control program, a key mapping program, and an XInput driver program to recognize it as an XBox controller. In my experience these workarounds are a bit clunky and it seems that analog sticks are reported as binary (Example: holding the joystick all the way up or reporting nothing at all. There was no middle ground or places in between). While this behavior can be fixed and works as expected, I wanted something simple. I wanted to hit the sync buttons and then expect the controller to just work. That's why I bought this adapter. This product is a dedicated, specialty Bluetooth adapter that maps and works like a gamepad or an all-in-one XInput adapter, so everything is done in the adapter with no additional software configuration required (other than the one-time driver installation in front of them). use it for the first time). ). The first time it took my computer about a minute to recognize the adapter (after installing the drivers for the first time) and the Wii U controller, but since then it has connected quickly every time I put it on my black Wii U Pro Turn on the controller. When I first plugged it in, one of the analog sticks reported that it was slightly off-center, but this was fixed by calibrating it in the game controller's control panel. In Xinput mode, it perfectly recognizes and works as an XBox controller. One thing to note is that aside from the different analog stick placement, the A and B buttons are upside down compared to the Xbox controller, as are the Y and X buttons. The map is great, but if you Have used an XBox controller before, it will make itself felt. You either just have to use it and customize or remap the buttons. So far the adapter has worked reliably when plugged in and maintained a connection. So far I've had no problems using it as an XBox controller in my games and other software such as Steam and Oculus home software. The Wii U controller will still go to sleep if left idle for too long, so you'll have to press a button to wake it up and reconnect automatically. Although this was to be expected.
