I don't know why it's so cheap now but why not for $15? It's about what you would pay for a decent quality hub or something. Instead, you get enhanced USB without sacrificing DisplayPort, and you also provide an Ethernet port. In fact, it can turn your Surface 3 into a decent workstation as described. The docking station is heavy, durable, plastic is comfortable to the touch. Feels like premium. It's top-of-the-line, but given that it's showing its age and only applies to one model in the Surface range, it's not a big deal at the moment. I wouldn't pay $99 or more for it like the original price says, but for $50 or less? If you have a Surface 3 I would say it's a worthwhile investment.
