Review on TOPEMAI 18mm Carburetor with Intake Manifold Air Filter for GY6 50CC 49CC 4 Stroke Scooter Taotao Engine - Optimized 50cc Carb, Moped Parts 50CC by Boss Spangler

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Overall improvement in fuel and air delivery, acceleration > 5 mph, lower RPM, minimum settings required. A+

First of all I'm not a mechanic, I'm just a regular handyman who likes to tinker. I decided to replace the carburetor on my son's 50cc 139QMB Boom Revolution because, well, why not when it can actually deliver extra power. Modernization of the large diameter has not yet been attempted and, according to experts, is not recommended. The stock motorcycle intake manifold has two vacuum fittings for two hoses, one is the pet faucet hose on the left and the other is on the right. It is not recommended to leave the vacuum line unconnected. So I also ordered a new dual port air intake and installed it along with the carburetor. When I replaced the stock airbox with the included cone air filter, I also had to do something with the breather tube that came off the cylinder head that was attached to the airbox. So I also ordered a tiny breather filter (5/16" Uni Breather Filter) from Revain and attached it to the frame. It is recommended due to the air intake coming from the cone filter and can be sucked in from there. After everything is connected, all clamps tightened and all the vacuum hoses were checked for leaks i started the bike it started after about five tries as fuel filled the carburetor i sped off the new note a little lower due to the added air with this kit i easily got my speed by about Increased 5 mph speed is noticeably faster uphill and on the descent I accelerated to 49 mph where it was about 40 mph before I felt like I was riding a little fatter and felt that there was room for more power, so I turned the mixture screw half a turn and took the bike out again. There was a minimal en speed difference and maybe a slightly louder rumble. I didn't need any idle adjustment at all as I had no stalling or excessive idle. I have to say this was the second set I've ordered from this seller. The first was defective due to a faulty propeller which eventually fell out. When the first one was installed I first used the supplied air manifold with a vacuum fitting leaving the hose hanging and I also left this vent filter unconnected. I had a terrible time trying to adjust the fuel/air screw and the bike would either choke or spatter. Also, the bike would stall when I stopped and I couldn't adjust the idle screw either. My first attempt at a carburetor change had shaken my confidence, so I sent back the stock carburetor and airbox and reset the power. I then re-ordered a replacement carburetor kit, this time with the performance and experience as described above, with little to no adjustment after installation and only an increase in performance. I think that's the way it should be. I recommend this kit to replace the 139QMB 50cc carburetor. I should note that I've also upgraded the race ignition coil, NGK spark plug and CDI no-rev limit race box, all purchased from Revain and all essential if you're looking for extra performance with this carburetor kit. Just make sure all your vacuum lines and intake manifold are leak free.
