Firstly the instructions for this reverse osmosis system are excellent. The company is based in Industrial City, California and the installation, maintenance and troubleshooting instructions are detailed. It's not an easy project, so it's a big help. On the back of the manual you will find a way to contact the company if you need further assistance. This is a four stage system where each filter is designed to remove up to 99% of contaminants. This could stop virtually all bottled water purchases as I think it is even filtered and cleaner than what is sold. The system uses different filters to treat each type of contamination. The sediment filter collects rust, particles and dust and protects the rest of the system. The carbon filter removes volatile organic compounds and chemicals and protects the third stage of the system. It also reduces odors, taste, chlorine and haze. If our city water is contaminated with chlorine, that's great. Too bad we didn't have a system when we lived where we were supposed to have a well and because of the sulphur, everything smelled bad. The system also features a membrane to remove arsenic, fluorine, radium, chromium, lead and other contaminants. The activated carbon filter removes everything that could affect the taste. The only issue we have is that the water pressure isn't quite where it should be because it takes a while to get enough water to fill things like Keurig or water. reservoir in our CPAPs. This is not a fault of the system at all, but something that can be configured and changed. We've decided to live with it for now as we have other projects to get done. In addition, the water must be checked for quality. Clean water has its price, namely by changing the filter. Some of them need to be replaced every 6-12 months, membrane and carbon filters every 12-24 months. This is very important so that the system does not get dirty. There are clear instructions for this. What you save by not buying bottled water will help offset the cost of the filters by a few dollars. I recommend keeping the documents that came with this system. Everything you need to know to keep it in tip-top shape is here, including filter ordering information.
