Arrived with a blown bulb but may have faulty wiring

UPDATE: I am replacing this light I have only had problems with my trailer headlights since fitting. I will say that it is not submersible. The housing does not create an air pocket, so the interior will get wet and short out as soon as you reconnect the trailer to the power supply. I've tried adjusting the light and lettering but the case must be bad. I previously replaced the left taillights and wanted both taillights to match. Replacement is easy and is done using a universal (regular) plug and ground loop. However, the dual filament primary lamp arrived with a burned primary filament. I had a spare bulb so I didn't have to return it, but then on my second trailer trip I noticed the right tail light didn't work. Upon inspection, it turns out that the design (an air pocket that limits the action of water) does not work on this lamp. After the device dried, it seemed to work again. Now we cut power to the trailer when backing into the water to avoid shorting out the system or blowing a fuse, but the light also gets wet in the rain so this type of problem shouldn't be there. I double checked the wiring and all I can figure out is that something is wrong with the light itself.
