Review on Gates 42353 Water Pump by Adam Jacobs

Works great so far. I will update if anything changes. Update November 5, 2021: My rating has been changed from 5 stars to 1. After a few thousand miles I realized I had to add more coolant to my car as it was overheating. This trend will continue every few weeks with daily driving. I walked in and found coolant leaking from the outlet so I cleaned the area around me to make sure it wasn't old coolant from when the pump was first installed. In fact, I checked the next day and there was a new dry stream from the crying hole. Gates is so aware of this issue that they have a propaganda video on YouTube explaining that some tear hole leakage is normal, when in reality it is not. . You must be inundated with so many returns to try and publish such a questionable video. It turns out this part is made in China and while not all Chinese parts are bad, this part must suffer from poor quality control. It's bullshit. In the end I decided to buy and install a reservoir pump. It was amazing and you know what? The outlet area on the stock pump is as clean as when the water pump was first installed - not a drop of coolant was to be found anywhere. Take it, Gates propaganda department! My advice: don't buy cheap on this particular part or you'll buy twice.
