Review on ✈️ Angled Pitot Tube Cover for Optimal Plane Sightings by Andy Tran

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Fits perfectly on my Cessna 172

I had an issue with a pitot cap that was missing from my plane after a storm. I have always used traditional leather bags in the past. These cases were always a little loose and blown away. This cover fits much better and has already survived two heavy storms. Just don't forget to fasten the velcro properly. If you can remove the lid from a pitot tube without undoing the Velcro, then so can the wind. I've read in some comments that people worry about orange visibility because they're so used to red, which means 'take that thing away'. I didn't realize this was a problem for me. I will say that the red "takeoff before flight" banners always appear very pale pink in the sun and are not very visible anyway. To be honest, if you do a proper pre-flight check, you won't be able to miss this bright orange cover. For me, the right fit and a case that doesn't blow away in the wind are much more important than the color of the case.

Pros
  • Great construction
Cons
  • Crumpled packaging

Inexpensive and will keep the pitot clear.
