After an afternoon of research I settled on these containers despite the relative cost . We had a bit of trouble sealing all the containers, especially the smaller ones, but we put up with it as most of the time we only use them for cooling so don't need to seal them. Complaint and the reason I threw away 75% of the containers is because they break leaving horribly sharp shards of glass in the container drawer and sharp edges on the containers themselves. This is a big disappointment. I think you have to take my word for it that we don't scatter these containers carelessly - they're glass and we treat them like glass; that is, with tenderness. However, they must be strong, right? These are not wine glasses or shards of crystal. In any case, I definitely do not recommend these oxo containers. In contrast, our Pyrex containers are not airtight, the blue lids will lose flexibility and break off, but the jar will remain intact after years of use.
