Neither product works very well once you integrate it into your network. I spent hours trying different configurations on my home network and was amazed at the chaos it caused. The most interesting was the specific ability to completely disable the transmission of the wireless router. I was able to do this with my xfinity gateway as well as two different Netgear routers (X6 and X8). This was the result of repeated experiments, and Wi-Fi transmission resumed when I removed the extender from the network. Although the device works, it doesn't work for me because it sometimes makes my network unusable. It actually works quite well if you want to use CAT5e or 6 to connect transmitter and receiver directly. It also works pretty well if you plug it into an unmanaged switch rather than directly into a router. I don't know enough about networks to understand why this happened. My goal was to connect a router (or even a switch connected to the router) on one end and a high quality multi-band WiFi extender on the other end. The end is configured as a non-broadcast wireless access point and placed in close proximity to the router. This resulted in the signal constantly coming and going from the access point's Ethernet port (85% of it, with 15% of low-quality image flashes) despite measured INTERNET download speeds of >100 Mbit/s. However, it is clear that I did not have enough bandwidth to receive the transmitted HDMI signal.
