Sorry but all the positive reviews are from people who have limited experience with these socks. The reality is that the name "Damn Cool" is just a marketing advertisement. See my photos. The design of these socks is imperfect and appears to be based on limiting manufacturing costs by using different weaves and materials for different areas, as opposed to socks that take a more uniform approach that is strong throughout. As you can see, certain areas, for example under the toes, can be called hard, but the adjacent areas are not. As a result, it wears out at transitions. The pair pictured is worn in 5 different areas. As other couples have proven, these areas quickly become holes. I'm 55 years old and have 40 years of outdoor experience, so I've tried a lot of socks. I recommend staying away from them and buying socks with a global uniform weave instead. For example, I bought similar wigwam socks around the same time. Excellent hold.
