Doesn't attach well enough

Unfortunately, as I saw in many other reviews here before buying, this bag doesn't attach well enough to my bike rack. The bag is attached at the bottom with two Velcro fasteners. They need to be threaded under the bars and tightened every time you put the bag on. The straps are too long for my rack, which is a standard aluminum rack about 5-6 inches wide, which is about 99% of any rack I've seen. As you can see in the photo, the straps protrude a few inches on the sides when tightened. And even then, the straps aren't tight enough to hold the bag on the rack. It slides freely both forward and backward on the bar and folds down on each side. The velcro is not of a particularly high quality and I wasn't sure if it would hold up at all as it was applied twice a day for my commute to work. This may not be a problem if you plan on keeping the bag attached for a long time. In addition, the bag does not have a hard bottom. That wouldn't be a problem for me as I only carry clothes in it, but if you load it with anything larger it will slam into the trunk while driving. The rest of the bag looks great. , and the volume is exactly what I expected. I wanted to like it but it won't work.
