Filtered water is cloudy, sometimes with suspended particles, tap water is not

I installed this product in January and used it a lot for a while. But then one day I noticed that the water flowing out of the glass was cloudy. I wasn't sure why, but I let it run for a while and it seemed to clear things up. Then I turned the volume down a bit and it was very cloudy. This cloudiness comes and goes. When I let it settle, I see a film that settles on the water surface. I took everything apart again to see if there were any problems. Nothing seemed out of place, but I did notice that the C1 filter, which is made up of very fine fibers, tears easily. I think this white fibrous stuff gets pushed in and through the C2 filter and then out the faucet. It should be noted that I was experimenting with my old plain cold water faucet and I don't see these particles or cloudiness. I don't think it's just oxygen either. There is no splash in the faucet for filtered water. I've already bought replacement filters, so I thought about replacing the C1 filter with a new C2 filter and see what happens. Is there a known issue with the fluffy white filter (C1)? Is there anything else I don't understand? I paid very little for it and used it a lot and now I don't know what I actually drank. I installed everything but now disabled under the sink. I have to give that 1 star until the seller helps make it right.

Pros
  • Self installation and quick change
Cons
  • Very expensive
