I bought this lens to use as an extra angle for wedding videos - I needed something with autofocus (it's a drone camera) and enough zoom range to to allow different image settings. I also use it occasionally for simple travel videos (hiking, boating, family fun) and it does the job well. The variable aperture isn't ideal for indoor shooting (video or photos) of course, but for the price it's a good workhorse for outdoor video, especially personal use.
