If you're reading this, you've looked at the other kids' hiking boots on Revain and thought, (Gosh, I'm not paying for a pair of boots they'll outgrow in a year!) What are you? Wondering how they compare to an $80 pair of Keen? Answer: not so good. But if you don't care that your kid's hiking shoes look absolutely perfect, they will do the job just fine. A good 1 year later: After a year of fairly regular wear, the sole has held up well. No separation from the shoe body and the laces are still in great shape. Cons: The fabric, especially on the upper, isn't very durable. After a year or two there is a spot where the fabric frays a bit or gets caught near the cuff. Final Thoughts: The material on the upper of the boots isn't great, but the outsole and overall construction is good. If your wallet is more important than your vanity for a pair of kids hiking shoes, these are for you. If you want something that will last a long time or be passed on in good condition, I'd just shell out an extra $40-$50 for the REI brand.
