Review on πŸ₯˜ Ultimate 6 Quart Instant Pot Max: Powerful 15psi Pressure Cooker, Sous Vide, Auto Steam Release & Touch Screen Control by Brett Cat

Revainrating 3 out of 5

IP 6 qt. Max 6 is a good machine, but not much different than Qt's IP 6. Ultra!

The main upgrade here is the touchpad, which is easy to use. I love the Max's ability to reach pressures of 12 to 15 psi. As with the Ultra, there's a heat indicator, but the Max also gives you a temperature reading as it heats up. When the device reaches pressure, it automatically releases vapor in short bursts, unlike the IP Ultra which is silent during pressurization. The finished cooking results are basically the same for Max and Ultra. The only thing I don't like is the escape of steam after the cooking time is up. You have 3 options: 1) natural release, 2) intermittent release, or 3) immediate release. All of these must be selected in the Control Panel. With the Ultra, you have full control over the vapor output by touching the button, and if you need to stop it you can just take your finger off it. You can't do that on max. Needless to say, after I made pea soup and decided to blow off steam after 15 minutes of NR, I had a pea soup volcano erupting in all directions through my kitchen before I grabbed a dish towel to tie the cover vent. Luckily I didn't hurt myself. Just wanted to point out this feature as there is no manual vapor delivery control on the Max. Otherwise I like the Max, but I still use my IP 6 Quart Ultra a lot more.

Pros
  • New brushed stainless steel outer case, stainless steel inner plate and 304 food grade stainless steel inner bowl;
Cons
  • I won't say anything
