This ball head lacks the key feature that many heads have, which is a separate cocking knob. I didn't even reset the score because I don't care about that feature. With this head you can loosen it a bit and align the camera without falling off. You do not need this function. I have a large collection of ball heads including Really Right Stuff and Arca Swiss. I've moved my best minds from tripods to camera tripods to arrows and other slider setups. Heads can be painful to move if overtightened, so I decided it was time to install a permanent ball head on each support system. I wanted to do this without spending a lot of money, so I bought several sample heads for less than $100. It was the best of all and a steal for the price. I would choose the largest if you have long lenses. This is the only one I tested.
