I use this converter with my Amazon Fire Stick TV instead of having a real TV. So I connected the Firestick to the converter and connected some speakers to the other end of the converter. The converter allows me to access everything that is on the Firestick. I'm using the voice presentation on Firestick and listening. This also works for Apple TV. There is no mute button for either the Fire Stick or the converter to turn off the sound at night. However, if you have speakers, just turn the sound off at night. You can do the same thing with Bluetooth speakers, but if you're blind you'll need a sighted person's help to set up the speakers. But once they're done, you're good to go. However, when they turn off, you'll need the Sighted's help to connect them again.
