Review on 🍺 Home Brew Ohio V1 VFR8 2ERN Hydrometer: Ultimate Precision for Beer Brewing and Winemaking by Dawson Schmidt

I liked the design - fabric analyzer

I bought these after my last one broke (different brand). At first I liked the design. Seems well done. But then I used it on the day of the brew. The areometer is significantly (and unnecessarily) longer than my old one. Much too long. The 100 ml measuring cylinder is too short! Resting on the bottom of a graduated cylinder, the hydrometer reads only about 1.020. Everything else was useless. Lots of lead below. There is even a five-cent "light bulb" hanging from it that is filled with plenty of lead shot. I know a larger test cylinder will get the job done, but that's just a waste of must. OK. <EDIT> I should have calibrated them when I bought them. You are also disabled. One reads 0.996 and the other 0.995. Distilled water at 75F. After temperature compensation, they differ by one or two points.
