It seems to be a high quality fan. However, I have a few problems with it. What is called a "recessed mount" is actually a "short stem" mount. This results in the bottom of the fan still being more than 17 inches from the ceiling. In a home with 8ft ceilings and a frequent 6ft 7 guest, you can see a potential problem. I have also installed several other Hunter fans and this one took the longest. The instructions aren't difficult to follow, but the process seems to take a few more steps than other Hunter fans I've hung up on. The glass bowl also absorbs more light than I thought it would and produces a lot more yellow/brown light than I would have liked. On the plus side, even for its small size, this fan moves a TON of air. Well made, quiet operation. Even someone who doesn't normally hang ceiling fans will be able to follow the instructions. Just make sure you take your time.
