Review on Guerrilla Painter Artists Pochade Cameras by Wendy Rodriguez

Stable legs, wobbly attachment

I bought this tripod to use with Guerrilla Painter's Flex Easel to hold the New Wave glass palette upright. The combination is very good and it fulfills what I wanted. However, the tripod mount that holds the easel is not free of play. This is intentional. It's a snap-on mount, and the 1/8" play on the mount turns into maybe a full inch on each side as you get to the edge of my 16" pallet. So there's quite a bit of wobble or play, and it's not the easel's fault: it's a tripod mount. The point is that if your easel held the canvas, you would have the same piece. This is quite annoying, especially since the main reason for using a tripod is stability. The legs are great and I love that the tripod head has bubble levels. The only issue I have with the tripod is that the mount is too loose to hold the snap adapter. If only they had an old school screw adapter that could be held securely I would be happy.

Pros
  • Easy assembly
Cons
  • There are more interesting options.
