I have two laptops, two monitors and a docking station. My two monitors are connected to my dock. Laptop cement switching physically switches the input cable from my docking station between laptops. With this switch I was able to run an input cable from my dock to the switch and then a cable to each of my laptops, so I only have to select number one or number two on the switch. Super clean super light super cool! The device comes with software and I didn't need it. Also requires no electricity. All I had to do was connect to my docking station and run two cables from there to two laptops.
