Tank check Almost everything went right

This is one of those products that got almost everything right. A great idea. Excellent use of modern technology. Easy to use. Very convenient application interface for the phone (can be read from inside the tractor on the go). Evidently the sensors, the bluetooth/phone app interface and the flexibility of the app have been carefully thought out and developed. The designer/manufacturer paid little attention to the simplest component of this system. The little green rubber washers used to lift the tank for sensor clearance are poorly designed. If you intend to use this system for more than two days, don't use these pads even if your tanks are small (we have 20lbs). If you use the supplied spacers, they will wear out and deform after a short time. If the pods aren't already cut in half at this point, they'll at least fall right out of the tank as soon as you lift it to fill. At this point, if you find another way to hold the gasket in place (like using tape on the tank), the gaskets will eventually tear in half and the sensor will be crushed by the tank. That happened to us. It looks like a sensor is broken as it no longer interacts with the phone app. See photos below, taken after 4 weeks of use, including one tank of gas on the road. The seals had to be taped over to keep them from falling off when the tank was reinstalled. Here is my problem. The sensors seem to be working. I applaud the sensor developers. I can't say anything good about who was responsible for the seals. If I were to buy this system again I wouldn't use the little green spacers. I see the manufacturer has a new aluminum shim design for "big" tanks. I believe they should do away with the green rubber seal design entirely and provide an improved seal design for all applications whether servicing a 100lb tank or a small 20lb tank like ours. Explanation of the problem and they responded very quickly with an apology and promised to send replacement sensors and the packaging of new aluminum spacers. They arrived within a week. Added backup photo. Time will tell, but in the absence of road testing, I think the new spacers will solve the flattened sensor issue. I recently visited the Richardsons RV parts department for an independent purchase and found that the Mopeka packaging still includes the green spacers. Again, don't use them in mobile apps like caravans. If you use the sensor for a stationary application, e.g. B. a gas grill, it should work fine with small tanks. Very happy now. The replacement sensors work great and I feel there is no weight loss from the tank using the new aluminum shims.
